How to get the most out of a thrift store
Come early in the week. Most thrift stores sort new donations at the start of the week, so the selection is best Monday through Wednesday. And swing by more than once – stock changes constantly, so a shop that was dull last week can be gold this week.
Look where others walk past: the boxes on the floor, the shelf in the back, the pile that hasn't been sorted yet. And always check quality in the light by the door – stitching, tags, corners and backs tell you more about an item than the price does.
